Tulips bloom in Sardinia

Tulips bloom in Sardinia! In Turri it is time for Tulips in Sardinia, the event dedicated to all lovers of flowers, nature in general, and photography enthusiasts.

Turri, a small village in the central-southern hinterland of Sardinia, known for the production of saffron, the Sardinian red gold, is located in the flat area of Marmilla, which offers varied landscapes. Here spring is heralded by the blossoming of the tulip park created from nothing by its owner Michelangelo Galitzia, as if to immortalise the beauty he experienced first-hand when visiting the tulip fields of Keukenhof in Holland. On his return, he decided to set up the first experimental tulip field in Sardinia where the public could admire and buy tulips. That was in 2018. Since then, there has been no longer talk of an experimental field but of a real park divided into two areas: one dedicated only to displaying and the other to harvesting.

From the first edition in 2019 that counted about 150,000 Tulips to the last one in 2024 that counted 450 varieties of flowers including Irises, Peonies, Muscari, Daffodils, Hyacinths, Alliums, Ranunculus, and over 5,000 Roses, the current edition promises even more amazing numbers and count 500,000 tulips in 70 different varieties to which is added the blooming of about 450 varieties of flowers and 5,000 roses.

So what are you waiting for? Come to Beranu Froriu - Il Giardino di Turri and visit the first tulip field in Sardinia!
