The Zegna Foundation presents in the spaces of Casa Zegna the exhibition Mimmo Jodice. Oasi, an exhibition project specially declined for the Foundation that recounts the Neapolitan master's photographic work commissioned by the Zegna Family and created in 2008 to portray the landscapes of the Oasi and the interiors of the Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna. Curated by Walter Guadagnini with Barbara Bergaglio, and organized in collaboration with CAMERA - Italian Center for Photography in Turin, the exhibition is open to the public from Saturday, March 22 to Monday, April 21, 2025.
The exhibition presents 36 photographic works and shows how the gaze of Mimmo Jodice (Naples, Italy, 1934) has settled on the nature of Trivero, its architecture and the details of production in the Ermenegildo Zegna Woolen Mill, to return a never-before-seen narrative made of black-and-white images. The project confirms the Foundation's longstanding commitment to act as a promoter and supporter of the work of artists, invited to narrate and represent through the languages of the visual arts the identity of the Oasis territory.
Mimmo Jodice. Oasi reveals the landscape of the Oasi Zegna as immortalized by Jodice's lens, revealing the photographer's authentic poetics, his ability to transform the elements of reality, natural or artificial, landscapes or interiors, plants or industrial machinery, into metaphysical visions, suspended in time and space. Further surprising is the presence of snow, totally unexpected in Jodice's “Mediterranean” production, which stands out in its pure white.
