Messer Tulipano

From 30 March to 1 May back to Castle of Pralormo (Pralormo, TO) Messer Tulip, the event that for 24 years has heralded spring with the extraordinary blossoming of over 100,000 tulips and narcissus in the park of the Castle, designed in the 19th century by the court architect Xavier Kurten, creator of the most important English-style parks of the Savoy residences and in Piedmont.

In the large lawns, flowerbeds have been created with soft, sinuous shapes, designed with particular care not to alter the original historical layout. The flowerbeds therefore 'meander' between the centuries-old trees, while clumps of muscari, narcissus and hyacinths peep through the undergrowth.

As usual, alongside the new planting and the flower park is a collateral topic involving scholars, experts, museums, as well as creative people including designers and artists who develop the theme.

The 'Orangerie, the pavilion created to shelter citrus plants in winter, hosts ''Paper, Pen and Fantasy''. Paper is a multifaceted material, omnipresent in today's society, with an almost infinite life cycle and protagonist of a long and complex history that has accompanied mankind since ancient times.
Here you will find precious ancient manuscripts from the Archive of the Castle, exercises and virtuosities of calligraphy recalling the laborious work of the amanuensis monks before the invention of printing, accompanied by an interesting collection of pens and inkwells.

The offer is completed by a shopping area, a dog bar, a dining area, many activities for children and the possibility of visiting the Castle with thematic and guided tours.

We look forward to seeing you at Castle of Pralormo from 30 March to 1 May with Messer Tulip!

Spring arrived with the scent of jasmine and the colour of tulips, and winter retreated forever before such beauty.
