Villa Bell'Aspetto

The name ''Villa Bell'Aspetto'' symbolizes the fascination and the mystery that the spectator witnesses when crossing the informal park he finds himself unexpectedly in front of the beauty of the Italian garden, the perspective views towards the baroque palace and the panorama on the sea.

This place was designed in 1647 by architect Antonio de Rossi on commission of Cardinal Vincenzio Costaguti. Initially a place dedicated only for leisure outside the city, then became from 1832 a reference point of the Borghese family when Camillo Borghese and Paolina Bonaparte bought the villa.
Since then the palace underwent several changes to adapt the spaces to a large family and all their guests. The park, however, remained almost unchanged until today: an alternation of informal forest and Italian garden designed to leave the viewer breathless.

The alternation of the seasonal bloom on the main square was designed by architect Paolo Pejrone while over the years it is with Lydia Borghese, with her warm personality, that the park has been enriched with many exotic botanical species. Care and enrichment that continue every day with the new generations.
