The world of Great Italian Gardens 2020

The world of Great Italian Gardens is growing: in the number of gardens making up the Network, the number of visitors, the number of qualified people working for it, and finally in the number of networks within it: Grandi Giardini Italiani, Gardens of Switzerland and Great Gardens of the World.
The new entries of the Network are: Gärten Schloss Waldegg (Feldbrunnen-St. Niklaus, CH), Roseto della Pace (Induno Olona, VA), Vistorta-Villa Brandolini d'Adda (Sacile, PN), Villa Caprile (Pesaro), Villa Adriana (Tivoli, RM), Palazzo Cocozza (Caserta), Museo Nazionale Ferroviario di Pietrarsa (Napoli), Giardino di Turri (Turri, VS) and Radicepura (Giarre, CT).
Also the activities held in each garden are increasing too, so that around 500 events will be organised in 2020. These take place from spring until late autumn, beginning with the Grandi Giardini Italiani Botanical Treasure Hunt on Easter Monday and continuing until the Foliage display in autumn. In May the itinerary ‘In the Name of the Rose' is of particular interest, involving the best rose gardens in Italy where the Grandi Giardini Italiani Rose, developed by Rose Barni, can also be admired.
Every garden organises an event offering a day of enjoyment. I therefore suggest consulting our website for dates and times and information on where to find tickets in advance.
Even the number of people travelling by train to visit the Network's gardens is growing. Thanks are due to Trenitalia and Ferrovie dello Stato: together we contribute to sustainable tourism, respecting gardens and the environment in general.
We are very proud to announce the creation of the new network Great Gardens of the World, a project developed with the support of Rado, a leader in the production and design of high-tech watches. Our aim is to increase the visibility of garden design in no less than 20 countries. The work of the best contemporary landscape architects will be published on line, to inspire anyone in love with the world of gardens and who cares about the future of the landscape.
Great Gardens of the World emerges from the know-how of Grandi Giardini Italiani, a cultural enterprise continually on the lookout for innovative ways to support the work of those who create and tend extraordinarily beautiful gardens, as well as offering visitors reliable and updated information.
