At Villa del Balbianello-Bene FAI (Treezzina, CO) a series of events are scheduled dedicated to the discovery of the last owner of the Villa, Guido Monzino (1928-1988), accompanied by an exceptional guide: his historic secretary, Maurizio Allione.
The special guided tours will be held on the following days: February 16, March 2, March 16, April 13, October 19 and November 2.
A tireless organizer, charismatic, solitary but friendly, Monzino is internationally known for his twenty-one expeditions that took him to the highest peaks, up to the epic conquest of the North Pole and Everest.
In the mid-Seventies, Monzino purchased Villa del Balbianello to also make it a prestigious geographical center and to gather the testimonies of his extraordinary explorations. The restoration and furnishing of the house constituted the twenty-second great undertaking of his life, to which he dedicated himself with extreme care: Villa del Balbianello is today the custodian of Monzino's collections and memories that, since 1988, the FAI has been committed to preserving and making known throughout the world.
