The Museo d'Annunzio Eroe of the Vittoriale degli Italiani (Gardone Riviera, BS) hosts the temporary exhibition In the Sign: works on paper from the 17th to the 21st century.
From March 8 to Sept. 7, the historic showcases of the Vittoriale degli Italiani will display works on paper from the 17th to the 21st century, ancient and contemporary testimonies on the theme of the sign, with pencil, charcoal and ink drawings and works made with the etching technique. A journey through time that spans the centuries, exploring the different declinations of the sign on paper, including through small-scale works.
The exhibition presents a selection of drawings and engravings ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th century to the contemporary, with works by great masters such as Agostino Carracci, Alessandro Allori, Pablo Picasso, Aligi Sassu, Giandante X and Kei Mitsuuchi. Alongside these are works by contemporary artists such as Gianfranco Ferroni, Mirko Gualerzi and Raffaele Capuana who, with different styles, have been able to document and interpret their time. It is a journey from the past to the present, through a variety of techniques and themes, from figures and landscapes to more experimental compositions. In addition, the exhibition includes works by Daniele Ranzoni, Alessandro Milesi, Casimir Reymond, Eugene Berman, Filippo De Pisis, Guido Borgianni, Ivan Kurach, Bernard Damiano, Renzo Vespignani, Giancarlo Vitali, Giuseppe Motti, Duilio Bartolini, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Ettore Sottsass, Claudio Granaroli, Anna Santinello, Alessandro Verdi, Sergio Battarola, Daniele Scarpa Kos, Maurizio Pometti, Shen Jingdong and Cai Yu.
