On the occasion of Easter, Sunday, April 20, the Castelo di San Pelagio (Due Carrare, PD) is organizing a special guided tour with a tasting of Luxardo's Sangue Morlacco and chocolate.
It will be an opportunity to discover and rediscover D'Annunzio's rooms and the history that led the Ratafià to take on the name of Morlacco Blood.
In the summer of 1917, the Castle of San Pelagio became a strategic point in the context of the Great War. The Zaborra family signed a lease agreement with the Italian army to set up an airfield and occupy part of the villa. The apartments on the second floor, in particular, became the home of Major Gabriele d'Annunzio. The Rooms, rearranged according to archival sources, are now open to visitors. They contain mementos of the poet-soldier's life and flight, as well as the furnishings of the Zaborra family.
